Former Iowa Nurse Charged After Multiple Women Accuse Him of Sexual Battery at Hospital

A former nurse from Iowa is facing serious criminal charges after multiple women accused him of sexual misconduct while working at an Oklahoma hospital.

Michael Todd Ralls, 57, formerly employed as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in Elk City, has been charged with three felony counts of sexual battery following an investigation by the Beckham County Sheriff’s Office.
The case began after an 18-year-old hospital intern reported receiving inappropriate messages from Ralls in February, prompting both hospital administrators and law enforcement to launch an investigation.

What followed uncovered allegations from multiple female staff members.

Multiple Women Speak Out

According to court documents, investigators interviewed at least three women who worked at the hospital, all of whom described separate incidents of alleged unwanted sexual behavior involving Ralls.

Authorities say Ralls held a position of authority over each of the women, making the allegations even more serious.

The accusations reportedly include:

  • Unwanted physical contact
  • Repeated inappropriate comments
  • Blocking women from leaving rooms
  • Persistent harassment inside the workplace

One woman reportedly claimed the behavior happened dozens of times over several months.

Hospital officials later terminated Ralls following an internal investigation.

A Disturbing Pattern

Investigators say the allegations span from fall 2025 through spring 2026, with the first formal complaint coming from the teenage intern.

Court records suggest Ralls allegedly continued trying to contact her even after she rejected communication and blocked his number.

The complaint led to a wider investigation, uncovering what authorities now describe as a troubling pattern of misconduct.

An arrest warrant was issued, and Ralls was later taken into custody.

When Trust Is Broken in Healthcare

For nurses, stories like this are deeply troubling.

Hospitals are meant to be places of healing and safety — not fear.

Healthcare workers, especially younger staff and students, should be able to learn and work without worrying about harassment or abuse from senior colleagues.

When a licensed nurse is accused of crossing those boundaries, it damages trust within the profession.

And when those accused hold power over others, the emotional impact can be even greater.

What Happens Next?

If convicted, Ralls could face significant prison time.

Authorities say the investigation remains active, and more witnesses could still come forward.

For now, the case serves as a reminder that professional status does not place anyone above accountability.

And in healthcare, protecting staff is just as important as protecting patients.
